On September 7, LauraLoomer posted a thread on X headed "EXPOSING ghetto, black, communist Florida US Senate candidate Angie Nixon", and went on to call the people around Nixon black supremacist miscreants. The words ghetto and black are fused with communist into one characterization of a Black candidate, and black sits between the other two as if it were one more fault. Nothing in the thread concerns a vote, a policy or a statement of Nixon's. The post drew 198,237 impressions.
Putting black in a list with ghetto and communist makes race one of the things that is wrong with her. Ghetto is a word that lands on Black women in public life and on almost no one else, and joined to black it says what kind of Black person she is. The candidate's race is entered as a charge against her.
Black supremacist miscreants settles it, because it moves from the candidate to the people around her and describes them by race too.
