A crisis over a surge of migrants at Ceuta ran into a second week from 31 August 2026. Pedro Sánchez said Israel and Russia were spreading disinformation about the surge, and MEPs from EPP and Patriots for Europe rallied against him in Strasbourg on 2 September. On 4 September the X account RadioGenoa captioned three Italian clips and closed with "Send them back". In the post here, over footage of a gate at Ceuta, it wrote that once past it "people are sent on to continental Europe" and that Sánchez "is flooding Spain and Europe with criminals". The post drew 52,172 views.
The blame is aimed at a prime minister, and blaming a prime minister is protected argument. The label lands on the people walking through the gate, and it lands on all of them. Criminals is what the sentence calls everyone who crosses, so criminality becomes a property of the migrant population itself.
Flooding adds the contamination image: people as a substance that spoils whatever it covers.
