'Foreign born Muslim woman': three identity facts, presented as the alarm.
In early September 2026, Michigan's Senate race pulled a run of posts about the religion of the candidates. On 2 September 2026, Sen. John Fetterman said on Hannity that nominee Abdul El-Sayed "absolutely loves Sharia law" and supports Hamas and Iran. AIPAC posted the same day, and Laura Loomer called El-Sayed a "jihadist". She had already written on 31 August "Ban Muslims from holding office in America!" Then on 5 September 2026, Loomer posted about another candidate: "A foreign born Muslim woman who was born in Bangladesh named Karishma Manzur is running to be your next US Senator." The post was seen 115,698 times.
The receipt states three facts and attaches no trait to them: foreign born, Muslim, born in Bangladesh, then a name and an office. Nothing in the sentence says what's wrong with any of that, and nothing she has said or proposed appears.
The classification rests on the framing. Identity facts stacked in front of the name and offered as the alarm, 'your next US Senator' supplying the stakes, in a run of posts about the same candidate: that's the reading we're applying, and it's ours. A disqualification of that kind reaches past Manzur to every naturalized citizen and every Muslim person who might run.
