A crisis over a migrant surge in Ceuta ran into a second week from August 31. Pedro Sánchez said Israel and Russia were spreading disinformation about it, MEPs rallied against him in Strasbourg on September 2, and the account RadioGenoa ran daily "apocalypse" videos that peaked on September 4 with a story about migrants killing a dolphin calf. That same day, Geert Wilders, a Dutch party leader, posted on X: "Barbarians from a barbaric cult called Islam kill dolphins for fun in Ceuta." The post reached 183,072 views.
The men in the footage are a handful. The post routes their cruelty through their religion, 'from a barbaric cult called Islam,' so the faith becomes the source of the act and every Muslim person is placed under the same word.
Wilders leads a parliamentary party and posts in that capacity, which puts the line in an official voice. The barbarian phrasing over this story ran the same day on David Vance and Calvin Robinson, with RadioGenoa following; we found no link among them.
