On 26 August 2026, crowds in Ceuta went after migrant camps on successive nights, pulling down and burning shelters, throwing people's belongings into the sea and blocking Red Cross food deliveries, with sweeps organized through WhatsApp groups. It came a month after tens of thousands crossed from Morocco. Spain asked Frontex and Europol for support, while the governing coalition and the opposition traded blame. Two days later, on 28 August, the X account RadioGenoa wrote that "Islamic hordes invade Lampedusa amidst shocked tourists" and that "warships must be deployed to Mediterranean Sea." The post drew 72,957 views.
Hordes deletes the individuals, and invade supplies the genre. Once arrival is a military attack, a naval response reads as logic instead of escalation.
The religious tag on the horde makes faith the uniform of the enemy force.
