What was said

In late August 2026, two posts on X a few days apart cast Somali people as a collective cost to public money, one in Britain and one in Minnesota. The Minnesota one is here. On 28 August 2026, the account LaurenWitzkeDE wrote that DHS "surrendered Minnesota to disgusting Somalians who stole billions in federal funds and let them all go." The post takes a federal fraud prosecution and turns it into a charge against a whole community, attaching a word of disgust to the group. It drew 34,133 views.

Why it counts

A fraud prosecution has defendants. This sentence has a population: disgust vocabulary plus whole-community criminality is group defamation. Case reporting names the accused.

'Them all' erases the line between the accused and everyone who shares their ancestry, and 'surrendered' recasts the state itself as ground lost to them.
