No single incident sits behind this card. Over three days in late August 2026, the X account HomerPavlos, writing for an audience in Greece, put out a run of posts casting Turkish and Muslim people as enemies of Christian and Greek civilization. On 27 August 2026 it said Muslim Turks "loved flaying (skinning) alive Christians," and the next day widened that to Muslims in the Ottoman period. The post on this card came on 26 August 2026, paired with remarks about Erdogan's speech: "A new war is coming, and soon humanity will have to choose sides. With the Greek or with the barbarian," putting Turkish people on the barbarian side. It drew 72,440 views.
War framing plus an essentialized enemy people is threat construction, well past any criticism of a Turkish president's speech. The post doesn't argue with a government; it sorts humanity into creators and destroyers of civilization and files a people under destroyer.
The account's 'jihadist Turk' epithet fuses religion and nationality into a single enemy figure, and 'barbarian' is where that figure is stationed.
