ACT for America posted footage of one man with a Hamas tattoo in the Bronx neighborhood known as Little Yemen, saying “we're paying for him” on welfare and describing the neighborhood by his presence in it.
One person's tattoo and claimed sympathies become the description of an entire named neighborhood, a synecdoche that makes everyone living there answer for one man.
The welfare claim is asserted with nothing shown for it. The tattoo carries the whole argument.
