Farage called this week's arrivals an invasion and asked how many were Iranian terrorists.
Farage, MP for Clacton and leader of Reform UK, posted “Over 700 illegal migrants have invaded our country this week so far. How many Iranian terrorists are amongst them?” It reached about 117,000 views.
Two moves stack. Individual arrivals become an invasion, and then an unevidenced criminal attribute gets spread across all of them.
The question mark is doing the work. It isn't a request for information, it's an accusation you can deny making. A Telegraph front page that week did carry an Iranian smuggling claim, which he cited separately, so the ground under it isn't invented. What's invented is the distribution across everyone who arrived.

One item from a weekly pass over 1,034 tracked accounts. Ninety-five items crossed the line this week. Thirty-five are here: every one from a carrier we can identify, with a reach figure we can report. The other sixty are not, and the reasons are worth stating. Thirty-five sat below the tiers this page carries. Twenty-five came from anonymous imageboard accounts with no measurable reach and nobody to hold to account, and most of those were logged upstream as new slur coinages for the research codebook, which is instrument-building rather than a finding about the week. All ninety-five are in the full report.
