The same day The Gateway Pundit headlined the speech 'Crushing Blow to Democrat Anti-Americanism.' On September 11 Jack Posobiec relayed the speech as 'RFK Jr blasts Dems'. Kennedy's claim, relayed by the Gateway Pundit and Posobiec, is that Democrats silenced mothers of vaccine-injured children.
The narrow reading is that the mothers went unheard, with their claims overwhelmingly denied or left pending and the program opaque about why. Of 6,827 Covid-vaccine claims decided by spring 2026, 95 were found eligible, 1.4 percent of those decided and under 1 percent of the 10,981 petitions filed, and KFF notes the program 'does not report petitions received or claims processed by year and does not publicly release details on the rationale for compensation decisions'. GAO found three quarters of claims still pending in mid-2024, with too few staff to decide them and outdated systems. That's a slow, opaque and almost never-paying program, and the grievance behind the line is real.
The wide reading is that the party cruelly silenced anyone. The channel through which claims are filed and decided stayed open under the Democratic-run department and processed claims throughout, slowly and with near-total denial, and its rules come from the 2005 PREP Act.
