The lead is real: three independent pollsters put the AfD roughly twenty points ahead of the CDU in the days around the post.
What the framing erases is the classification: the state's own domestic-intelligence office rates this AfD branch confirmed right-extremist, based on documented statements by its officeholders. 'Only hope' presents as one option among several a party the state says stands outside the constitutional order.
