September 11 was invoked against a Muslim mayor. Weeks later the same camp backed a nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia.

Two accounts, Hasan Piker's and @FPWellman's, pointed at a US-Saudi nuclear cooperation agreement and argued that the Republican officeholders who had invoked September 11 against New York's Muslim mayor don't actually hold the security concern, and that the real motives are Saudi money and hostility to Muslims.
The inconsistency is documentable and worth documenting. The caution invoked against the mayor on September 11 grounds wasn't applied to an agreement that the administration's own nonproliferation specialists say wouldn't have been accepted from a different partner.
The posts don't stop there. They charge the whole camp with insincerity and attach a corruption motive, and that second step has nothing under it. An inconsistent position is a thing you can prove. A bought one is not, at least not with what's here.
Four checks on whether the security rationale was applied inconsistently, whether payment appears anywhere in the record, and whether the camp holds the position uniformly.
Being right about what happened and wrong about what it proves are different failures, so these two lines never get averaged into one score. How this works
The logic check
If the claim is right, these things should be true. Here's what we found. Each check says which version of the claim it's testing, the plain one most people would hear or the widest one the same words could carry, and whether it carries the claim's own burden or establishes the background it sits on.
If the security rationale were consistently held, we would expect the agreement to carry at least the nonproliferation terms the United States has previously required of a Gulf state.
Reading survivesIt does not. The agreement departs from the gold standard the United States applied to the United Arab Emirates, under which that state forwent domestic enrichment and reprocessing. Reporting describes a joint US-Saudi study of possible future enrichment, a provision that could permit a black box enrichment facility inside the kingdom operated by US companies, and no commitment to the enhanced Additional Protocol safeguards. The Arms Control Association's director for nonproliferation policy said the agreement "sets a terrible precedent", and a former US Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation said the policy "reverses 50 years of US leadership in the global nonproliferation architecture". source
If the accused administration's own account is reliable, that the agreement bars enrichment and limits the programme to peaceful use, independent nonproliferation analysis would confirm the bar and the carriers' factual premise would fail.
Reading failsIt does not confirm it. The Energy Secretary said enrichment "is not part of" the deal and the President said the deal bars it. Independent analysis by the Atlantic Council, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists and the Arms Control Association describes enrichment as left open rather than barred, through the joint study and the possible US-operated facility inside the kingdom. The administration's characterisation of its own agreement also shifted within a day on the separate question of the Israel condition, which is a direct reason to weigh the self-description carefully rather than accept it. source
If the motive is payment from the Saudi royal family, we would expect a documented financial relationship tied to this agreement, cited alongside the claim.
Reading failsThe carrier cites none. The post he quotes concerns the terms of the agreement, not any payment. No evidence tying family business interests to this agreement was found in the window. The corruption predicate is asserted, not shown. source
If the attacks on the mayor were driven by his religion rather than by anything he did, we would expect them to be independent of his statements rather than to follow them.
Reading strainedThe attacks measured inside the window follow and cite his 22 July statement on the ICC warrant: the ambassador's post quotes that statement directly and the senator's post follows it by about sixteen hours. The carriers' recollection concerns religion-based attacks during the mayoral campaign, which sits outside this window and was not checked here, so the claim is contradicted for the window and untested before it. source

@hasanthehun (Hasan Piker
"I'm old enough to remember when Republicans were losing their minds that a Muslim was being elected to head NYC just 25 years after 9/11. Now they are literally handing nuclear secrets and technology to the country that raised the attackers because Trump's family is bought and paid for by the Saudi Royal family. This corruption is beyond measure and the Republican Congress is screaming about \"communists\" and threatening Cuba." (@FPWellman, 11:55 AM, 23 July 2026). "letting saudi arabia have nukes as long as they formally recognize israel without palestinian statehood 25 years after 9/11 is wild. but ofc his cult is too busy yelling at zohran for being muslim instead!!" (@hasanthehun, 5:21 PM, 23 July 2026). Both verified verbatim against the source pages"
The full scoring
The raw numbers behind the verdict. What R/I/P/E/L and charge stages mean: how we score.
Research verdict: mixed evidence. The research found some of what the claim predicts and not the rest.
The claim is that Republican officeholders who raised September 11 against New York's Muslim mayor don't hold the security concern they cited, since the same camp backs a Saudi nuclear deal. Read narrowly, the inconsistency holds: the agreement drops the enrichment terms the United States required of the United Arab Emirates, and independent specialists read it as leaving enrichment open despite the administration saying it is barred. Read widely, the claim adds a motive, Saudi money and hostility to Muslims, and neither is shown. No payment tied to the agreement was cited, and the attacks on the mayor inside the window followed his 22 July statement on the ICC warrant. That leaves the inconsistency proven and the motive asserted.
